Introduction


A very warm and healthy Good morning ☀ , Good afternoon, Good evening to every visitor who is with us throughout our tutorial.

If you are new I will suggest you visit our third party. There we have described the method to use components of Google tag manager.

Today the time of practicality has come. We will see the practice of Components in Google Tag Manager.

Following are the topics that we will cover in this article.

We will start from simply practical to the harder one.

  • How to record an element click on a website.


 Some people will think about why we have taken only one topic for today’s article.

It’s so because the click event topic is very large and conceptual so we have to discuss 1 topic per practical.

Without wasting any time let’s move forward through our practice. 

How to record an element click on a website.


In previous tutorials, we have learnt about click element triggers which are also known as click Triggers. We have to use a click trigger, that records a click event on our site.

Set up tags in Google Tag Manager-


Recap

These triggers are used to fire tags based on click events. When an element is clicked on a page that matches the trigger condition, Tag manager will automatically populate values for any active click-based built in variable.


Let’s see how it happens.

the 3 steps will always be the same in every tutorial.

  • Open Google tag manager.
  • Sign up with your Gmail account.
  • Add your website property in property option of Google tag manager. 
  • Click on add new tag or select tag from the left-hand side. 



  • Tag configuration window will open. 
  • Hover your mouse on the tag column. 
  • Click on the pencil icon

  • For practice, we are using Google Analytics to record a click event. So____ choose Google Analytics tags

  • In the practice, we have to track an event so choose the event from the type drop-down menu. 

As shown in the image.
Step -5

  • Fill out all the column (with your understandable text) except value option. (Because we are just doing a practice, the option is for permanent setting.)

  • Now we have to configure the variable option. ( Click on the variable option, a drop-down dialogue box will appear. Choose to add new variable option.

Step -7

  • Fill your Google Analytics tracking id 🆔🆔 . Please😫🙏🙏💓  enter the id🆔 on which you want to get reports.

  •       Rename your variable with an understandable name ( I have named it analytics).You can choose other one which u can easily understand 😉😉.

  • Click on save 💾💾

Set up Trigger on Google Tag Manager

Tags fire in response to events. A trigger Is used to listen to your web page on a mobile app for certain types of events like form submission, click, or page views. Triggers tell the tag to fire when the specified condition is met

It is necessary to have at least one trigger in order to fire on a specific event.

These are evaluated when code on a page or app is executed, and associated are fired or blocked when trigger conditions are fulfilled.


Let’s see how it happens.

  • Open Google tag manager.
  • Sign up with your Gmail account.
  • Add your website property in property option of Google tag manager. 


You can easily set up it after saving tag 

  • Hover your mouse on trigger column. 
  • Click on the pencil icon.

  • I have my own many triggers but for you, I will add a new 🆕🆕 trigger. 😃😃😃
  • Click on the add ➕➕ button

  • Since we have to record an event so we use all element option. 

As shown in the image.

  • All element optionss dialogue box will appear. 


This trigger fires on


At this menu choose Some click. 

Why ❓


Because we have to record only some click not all . 



 Fire this trigger when an Event occurs and all of these conditions are true. 

From here change 🔀 Analytics to Click text 💬  from the drop-down menu. 


The change contains to equal option ( as we have to record a word or event). 

Why to choose equal option?


It records only when the exact word is been clicked.


Fill out the word which we have to record I choose word SEO I 🙋 have to record

  •  Rename with the understandable name. 
  • Click to save.

  • Click on the preview button. 


  • After clicking preview button Dashboard Changes to this type ( As given in above image).
